Pawpaw Seeds

$9.00
sold out

Pack of 13 seeds. Pawpaw trees are native to the northeastern United States. They grow in shady spots, and their fruit tastes like a cross between a mango, pineapple, and banana! Pawpaws must be harvested ripe because they will not ripen any further after they’re picked- this is why they aren’t sold in stores. To get your paws on ripe pawpaws (see what I did there?), you need to grow them, forage for them, or find someone who is selling them! (Pro-tip: Heritage Springs sells them for about 2 weeks during the fall- get on our mailing list to be notified when pawpaw season starts!) If you choose to grow your own, be careful where you buy your seeds from. The seeds must be handled with care. Pawpaw seeds must never dry out which is why ours are immediately packed in damp spaghnum moss. The seeds also must be kept cold for 100 days before you can try to grow them in the spring. You can trust Heritage Springs to bring you high quality and well cared for seeds that you can use to start your own pawpaw forest!
