The Honeybee Experience at Heritage Springs Family Farm in Northern Virginia

The Honeybee Experience is a fun and immersive hands-on adventure where you will discover the magic and inner-workings of the honeybee hive!

You will meet one of our experienced beekeepers at the Heritage Springs Family Farm store and get outfitted in protective gear like a real beekeeper. You will then be driven out to our apiary on the edge of our farm where you will have an unforgettable experience!

In the apiary, you will get to see inside a hive, hold a frame of honeybees, see honeybees in all phases of development, learn how pollen is stored, and observe all the wonders of the hive. You may see honeybees carrying pollen into the, honeybees doing their “waggle dance” to communicate, and if you are lucky you may even spot the queen! Your experienced beekeeper is there to answer all of the questions you have.
